This essay discusses the vision of the history of Carlos Drummond de Andrade. The article aims to demonstrate that the poem "Os Bens e o Sangue", published in the book Claro Enigma, is a privileged moment of meditation on the time and the past. This meditation could be regarded as the poetic form of a thought about the history.
