摘要
Six pulp extracts of Colombian tropical fruits: Passiflora tripartida var. Mollissima, Passiflora edulis Sims, Persea americana Mill., Solanum quitoense Lam., Cyphomandra betacea Sendt., Physalis peruviana L. were used for studying the total phenolic content by the Folin Ciocalteu method and the antioxidant activity by the chemical methods: DPPH and FRAP, and by the biological methods oxidation of LDL and inhibition of oxidative stress on Saccharomyces cerevissiae growth. Passiflora tripartida showed the highest content of total phenolics. The Persea America exhibited the highest activity in the DPPH assay, whereas the banana Passiflora tripartida showed the highest antioxidant activity by the FRAP method. In the LDL oxidation assay the extracts from Passiflora tripartida and Physalis peruviana presented the greater inhibition ability. In the assay of inhibition of oxidative stress on S. cerevissiae the Persea America, Passiflora tripartida, and Passiflora edulis extracts exhibited the main protective effect.
