摘要：

This paper reports recent improvements in machinery operations which provide substantial material savings, thus increasing productivity. It is pointed out that subzoned heating ovens and nonheated assist plugs can conserve electrical power. A result of improved machine reliability is that many processors are re-evaluating the advantages of in-line extrusion and forming - and some are finding that additional manpower savings can be achieved.
