摘要
Thin films offer a wide variety of possibilities to implement achromatic beamsplitters. Optical requirements, environmental conditions during application, and economical considerations determine, whether a metallic, a dielectric or a meta-ldielectric beamsplitter represents the best choice for a given application. Fundamental studies of H. Pohlack about achromatic beamsplitters from the 1950s are still relevant today. Their knowledge continues to be an invaluable signpost for the choice of an appropriate coating for a wide range of applications.
