摘要
Currently migration has great relevance and profound implications of the features presented and the economic and social implications involved. This creates considerable imbalances and conflicts: between the volume of migration and the least developed countries which are willing to admit the need developed; between the numbers of migrants latter actually need and welcome; between migration recipient countries would like to receive and they actually receive. Among the new features of the migration phenomenon is a greater presence of women in migration flows. The increase in numbers of women migrating for work can be explained in large part by the entry of women into the labor market in different contexts in different countries. Therefore in the present study is to identify as a variable taking the migrant sex discriminatory if differences exist as to their immigration status and other conditions such as the number of migrant population, state, destination, housing, average length of stay, education, age, remittances and repatriation; for which variables 23 are considered as part of the analysis. The tool used to carry out that objective since discriminant analysis identifies the variables that distinguish the behavior of two or more mutually exclusive groups to develop a predictive model for the cases studied. Among the main results we observed that the migrant population male is higher than female in all cases except the State of Campeche where there is no significant difference by sex, attracting remittances of women is higher in the states of Chihuahua, Mexico City, Chiapas, Durango, State of Mexico, Michoacan and Aguascalientes mainly. While remittances generated by men are higher in the states of Veracruz, Yucatan, Puebla and San Luis Potosi.
