In 1985 - 1988 in a field trial conducted in a beet-growing region, no significant differences were found in the yield and quality of sugar beet amongst different technologies of soil cultivation. The highest sugar beet root and sugar yields were obtained in technologies when deep tillage was replaced by cross soil loosening. The results obtained indicate the possibility to use looseners in the system of basic soil cultivation of sugar beet. Organic manuring may be applied in technological cultivation directly in the stubble field. No significant proportion in the sugar beet root yields was found among different treatments of organic manuring. The highest sugar beet root yield was recorded when manure was applied and the lowest yield was obtained when slurry + straw were applied. The sugar beet yield and quality was influenced especially by weather conditions for the years of the trial was conducted, by number of plants and by completeness of the stand. In the agricultural practice, these results may be applied under identical soil and climatic conditions.
