Religious Education prerogatives as subjects of elementary and secondary education and Pedagogy academic course

摘要
This research aims to investigate the prerogatives of Religious Education as a subject in basic education and in University Degree in Pedagody, to help develop citizenship values of the Brazilian people and the development of the Teacher of Religion Studies. It is based on the treatment that Religious education needs to basic education consider syllabus planning in the several processes of teaching and learning in the classroom (kindergarten, elementary, middle and secondary school) and at University Degree in Pedagogy, one of the programs of present days that can help develop university students to become a Religion Studies teacher. It presents the data analysis of a research developed between 2007 and 2011, with 46 students that passed at the Pedagogy Degree entrance exam of FAE Centro Universitario do Parana, prior to the syllabuys preparation for the subject "Foundations and Methodology of Religion Studies (Fundamentos e Metodologia do Ensino Religioso)" and the frequency of those students to that class. It identifies, by means of the analysis made, a presumption of students' knowledge on religion and on the religious phenomenon as a path, a belief, a reason for good attitude, personal devotion, and an incommensurable and unaccountable issue. It points out, as an academic study, a curricular proposal capable to attribute the same importance to development, both human and professional, of those involved as the discernment of specificity and the objective of Religious Education if compared to the other subjects.
