Cranial glottic stenosis secondary to debarking and surgical treatment of laryngeal paralysis was treated by peroral scar resection and corticosteroids in nine dogs. Eight dogs breathed normally at follow-up three to 48 months after scar resection. The improved results in this study, compared with previous reports of peroral scar resection, may be due to the inhibition of granulation tissue formation by intraoperative and postoperative corticosteroids.
