The environmental project of the enhancement of the fluvial area: L'Aquila and the Aterno River

The research in this project is associated to an interdisciplinary program aimed at the valorization and protection of rivers, with regards to the activation and control of the flows of symbiosis. Following the criterions of the environmental project, we have tried to integrate urban themes, landscape designs, technological features and ecological ambience system, to orientate the development of the territory. The valorization and preservation of the natural resources, is to regain the discontinuities which are represented by the river today, and to allot greater recognition and potential. Specifically, we have examined the relationship between L'Aquila and the Aterno River, to identify, in this case, possible strategies for the recovery of the relations between the river and the urban environment, for the advancement of the territory and the reactivation of the function regarding the life cycle of water.
