摘要
A variant of the Born approximation is used to calculate doubly differential and total ionization cross sections for the (e, 2e) interaction between an electron and the alkali atoms, lithium through rubidium. The calculation is done for the ionization of the valence electron. A primary purpose of the work is to establish the basic features of the doubly differential cross sections. The total cross section results compare well with the few experimental data available.
