ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY RESPONSE TO CARBON-DIOXIDE OF POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL-INORGANIC SALT-SOLUTIONS SUPPORTED ON CERAMICS

摘要
The authors present the potential to realize a new type of CO2 sensor based on the conductivity change of the polyethylene glycol(PEG)-inorganic salt solutions supported on a ceramic carrier. CO2-response characteristics of these elements were measured to 1% CO2 in air at room temperature using a flow apparatus. Resistance changes of the elements were calculated from voltage changes across a load resistor connected with them in series under an applied voltage of dc 1.0V. The gas sensitivity of an element was defined as the ratio of the resistance in sample gas (Rg) to that in air (Ra). The results presented in this study offer a potential for realizing a new type of carbon dioxide gas sensor.
