摘要
This study analyzes the social representations of the child, according to licensed students of the Pedagogy Course of the Federal University of Mato Grosso. It is supported by the contributions of the Theory of the Social Representations (MOSCOVICI, 2003) and of the Theory of Infancy Sociology (SARMENTO, 2007). The methodological procedures adopts the free association of words (n=206) which analysis was accomplished by the joint of the results of three phases: 1. analysis of content; 2. cohesive analysis supported by the software; 3. analysis of the structural elements (EVOC). The results reveal that, the social representation of child is anchored in meanings associated with the innocent and small child whose playful expressivity is articulated by the learning and cognitive development. The represented child seems to incite the presence of the sensible adult identified with the joy and the love offered to the child as well as the adult whose action is organized according to care and protection practices.
