Investigating the relationship among personality characteristics, primary maladaptive schemes and sexual satisfaction in men and women with extramarital relationships

摘要
Extramarital relationships are a topic that couple therapists deal with it consistently in their clinical affairs and it can be a confusing and painful experience for anyone who involves with it. Thus, investigating the related variables is important. Therefore this research main objective is investigating the relationship among personality characteristics, primary maladaptive schemes and sexual satisfaction in men and women who have extramarital relationships. This research is considered as correlation studies that for its performance the sampling is done in Shiraz city and this sample was consisted of 100 people who have extramarital relationships and the sampling method is available sampling and they are selected by recognition interview and they are examined by deploying Yavari sexual satisfaction questionnaire, NEO personality questionnaire and Young schemes questionnaire - short format -. Data is analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient method and multi variable regression analysis. The findings show that there is a significant negative relationship among all dimensions of schemes and sexual satisfaction. Also there is a significant positive relationship between responsibility (and palatability) and sexual satisfaction however there is a significant negative relationship between neurosis dimension and sexual satisfaction. Current research results suggest that in psychotropic of the people, who have extramarital relationship personality characteristics, primary maladaptive schemes and sexual satisfaction can be regarded.
