摘要:
The relationship between the Al6.2Cu25.5Fe12.5 icosahedral quasicrystal (IQC) and microtwins of the B2-type phase is studied by means of transmission electron microscopy as well as computer calculation. After irradiation at room temperature with 1 MeV electrons and 120 kV Ar ions to a certain dose under a higher dose rate, each grain of the IQC transforms into the B2-type structure with a morphology exhibiting microtwins icosahedrally related to each other and the lattice parameter a of the B2-type structure is about 0.29 nm. The calculated electron diffraction patterns agree well with the experimental ones.
