Seed oil content and fatty acid composition of seed lipids for 11 species in the Sapindaceae are reported. The oil ranges from 10.5 to 37.1% by weight. The 20:1 chain length pattern is the dominant fatty acid in seed lipids of all species surveyed. Variations in pattern emphasize 20:0 or 18:1 or both as the second most abundant lipid component. However, in Cupania vernalis, 16:0 and 18:1 are the main components and in Matayba elaeagnoides 18:1 and 18:2 are the main components.
