The protection of cultural heritage: territorial planning and heritage management in the Alpujarra Media granadina

Some of the actions of the public administration on the management of the Cultural Heritage make it clear the change in perspective on its protection policy on, in line with the new ideas from international organisations that consider Cultural Heritage, contrary to the old approach, a much wider and open entity. This is clearly seen in the case we are going to analyse, the Historical Site of La Alpujarra Media Granadina (AndaluciaSpain), in which, from a territorial point of view, different, and relevant for the local culture, elements have been included. For this work, the Regional Administration for Culture, hired a company with great experience and multidisciplinar techniques, Gestion y Valorizacion del Patrimonio Cultural, S.L.
