THE USE OF DESVENLAFAXINE IN THE THERAPY OF MAJOR DEPRESSION

Depression sets in a mood disorder that prevents individuals from having a normal life. Within the depressive syndromes, major depression is defined as the most common form of manifestation, affecting every year an increasing proportion of the population. This fact leads to concomitant emergence of new antidepressants such as the desvelafaxiana, recently approved drug against major depression. In this context, this study aims literary survey, through a literature review to assess the significance of this latest product inhibitor of the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, addressing its pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, dosage, possible drug interactions and adverse reactions of this drug that brings good signs as a treatment for major depression, due to the simplicity of its dosage, pharmacological characteristics and low capacity for drug interactions, aspects that give desvenlafaxine well accepted by patients.
