Galician language learning using key word mnemonic in bilingual speakers with low or high image control

摘要
In order to determine the efficacy of keyword mnemonic in Galician language learning in bilingual speakers with low or high image control, 237 secondary school students with an average age of 14.99 years were assessed. Half of the participants learned the meaning of a list of 20 words Galician using the keyword method, and the remainder learned the same list using the rote method of learning. Moreover, learning was evaluated in relation to high or low image control. Both keyword mnemonics and image control significantly influenced the learning of translated Galician words.
