Presented are the results of an investigation of the effect of iron (III) oxide on phase formation in roasting a mixture prepared for magnesian pleochroite synthesis. The thermal stability and hydraulic properties of this phase were studied. The schemes of possible interactions and the diagrams of the change in phase composition are given.
