ON THE RELAXATION OF SMALL MAGNETIC INTERACTING PARTICLES AND THE CONSEQUENCES IN QUANTUM TUNNELING OF MAGNETIZATION

摘要
We use the mean field approximation to discuss the magnetization relaxation times of coupled small magnetic particles. It is shown, in particular for antiferromagnetic interactions, that the relaxation time decreases for a given temperature in comparison with the noninteracting case. This effect is maximum around the ''ordering temperature'' where the inverse of the logarithm of the relaxation time saturates to a constant value. In this context we discuss also the influence of antiferromagnetic coupling between particles on possible experimental data and its relation to quantum tunneling of the magnetization.
