ELECTRON-CONFINED LO PHONON-SCATTERING RATES IN GAAS/ALAS QUANTUM-WELLS IN THE PRESENCE OF A QUANTIZING MAGNETIC-FIELD

摘要
An expression for the electron-LO phonon scattering rates, in the Huang and Zhu approximation for the confined LO phonon modes, is obtained in quantum wells in the presence of a magnetic field. Numerical results for the intrasubband scattering rates are given for GaAs/AlAs quantum wells as a function of magnetic field and well width. These results are compared with the corresponding calculations for bulk phonons, the Fuchs-Kliewer slab model and Ridley's guided-mode model.
