摘要
The shortcomings of continuum damage mechanics are discussed. A new universal statistical definition of damage of ceramic materials is given from the viewpoint of stochastic evolution of microcracks. The kinetic equation and the accumulative rule of damage are derived. The connection between the micromechanisms of damage and the macroscopic properties of ceramics is discovered.
