摘要
This work presents a system focused to Optical Character Recognition (OCR), applying of checking the vehicle registration, this prototype use a USB camera for the capture the image and its and after your image characteristic processing thought Matlab 9.0. To acquire images in real time using video cameras, which have the task of converting light waves into electrical signals, or in its corresponding video format. The prototype will provide an automated security tool, profitable and efficient as it captures the image of the vehicle and through a process a filtering and conditioning you get the license number in order to improv e mobility and safety system, the process continues comparison of enrollment in the database generating a warning signal in case of an abnormality. Applications may vary depending on the purpose of the project: vehicle registration in public or private parking lots, toll stations, security, barcode detection, traffic flow statistics in avenues, and so on.
