Peace from below in Colombia

Peace and peace building are interdependent notions and realities. Research for peace has identified various realities of peace in this country, and within. these a significant universe of civil peace initiatives. These include socially based civil initiatives that are realities of purpose and hope for Colombia. They show: "imperfect peace" or unfinished peace built from the bottom up, day to day, without recourse to violence, from the values of various cultures comprising this country; the strengthening of peace generating capabilities; Pacifist empowerments in settings with different kinds of violence having real and trasforming effects.
