摘要：

We developed a novel diagram to depict patient flow and outcomes in clinical trials. In contrast to flow diagrams such as the CONSORT chart, our diagram enables individual patient histories to be traced and depicts important patterns of treatment administration and outcomes, such as response and adverse events. Also, it is particularly useful for multimodal treatments or a sequence of different therapies where the CONSORT flow chart is less informative and can be confusing. (C) 2009 Elsevier Inc.
