摘要
Supplication and hospitality - two of those values that, at the end of the fifth century BC, are regarded by Thucydides and Euripides as "the common laws of the Hellenes" are designed here in the context of Homeric poetry and presented as signs of what is indispensable to speak of the humanity of those involved in a relationship. Respect for whoever then appears as a fundamental value for the preservation and advancement of humanity, either from the one who respects or from the one Who is respected. And that human dimension, which often gets overshadowed on the exploits of heroes and plots of the divine, is central in the work of Homer.
