We studied the effects of oxidants and pronase E on the isolated complexes LH II and RC-LH I and membranes (lamellae) of Rps. palustris str. AB grown at low (300 lx) or high (30,000 lx) light intensity. The differences in the stability of various pigment forms B800, B850, B875 and in the accessibility of protein-binding pigments were detected thus indicating the adaptational reorganization of the photosynthetic apparatus.
