摘要
Polystyrene samples of various number-average molecular weights were synthesized by regulated suspension polymerizations taken to very high conversions. The chain transfer constant of the regulator, carbon tetrachloride, for this benzoyl peroxide initiated polymerization at 70° was found to be 1.10 × 10-3. It was found to regulate chain length up to very high conversions. The polymers were characterized by 13C-NMR and GPC. The dyad, triad, tetrad and pentad distributions were estimated. The polymers were formed to be atactic. © 1990.
