摘要
A general-purpose finite-element structural- and thermal-analysis system for engineers, ASA, has been developed for educational and industrial usage on microcomputers. The system treats linear static problems for various load cases, including temperature, creep, and moving loads, and various dynamic problems with restricted non-linearities. Steady-state non-linear heat-transfer analysis is also available. The pre-processing includes the creation of structural geometry as a surface model and the mesh generation. A simple and efficient algorithm for generating a mesh for general plate structures is described. The post-processing treats the visualization of results, evaluating maximum values among load cases, and adaptive mesh refinements by a simple error measure. A software architecture to treat various practical problems and a large amount of analytical data in a unified manner on microcomputers is described. The effectiveness of the microcomputer system is discussed through its application to practical problems.
