The problem of historicism and the human sciences in the 20th Century

This paper deals with the relevance of the problems raised by historicism, showing its importance nowadays in the human sciences. In order to do so, one must understand historicism in a more complex way. That is the only way to avoid the usual reductions to which historicism is submitted. So, it is possible to understand historicism beyond "relativism" and "positivism", but as a pledge for acknowledgment the diversity of traditions, which makes possible a mutual recognition within human diversity.
