The first half of 2014 has seen quite a substantial increase in competition law activity in the State aid sector in relation to aviation matters with the release of the European Commission's ('Commissions') new state aid rules for airports and airlines, the adoption of a communication prescribing transparency rules and a number of State aid decisions issued by the Commission.
