ORBITAL FERROMAGNETISM OF ANYONS

摘要
We investigate the spontaneous (zero-field) magnetization M0==M(H=0) of a system of anyons. We show that M0 0 in the weakly interacting, high-temperature limit, using the virial expansion for the thermodynamic potential. In contrast, we find strong evidence from finite-size studies that M0(T=0)=0. We comment briefly on the implications of these results for possible experimental tests of anyon models for high-temperature superconductivity. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
