摘要
This article focuses on the role that literature plays in fostering values. With this aim in mind, it distances from the traditional ways in which literature has been taught, and insists on working the sense, the symbolic and iconic nature of literature and in constructing three types of human values: cognitive, ethical and aesthetic. This is achieved by focusing on the development of the analogical component of the sense. The article concludes by claiming that literature has a great aptitude to subvert the logical excesses of the educational system; this justifies the power that art has for educational purposes.
