摘要：
It is proposed that the shear Alfven wave could appear as a purely damped magnetostatic mode at zero frequency. Supporting arguments are provided, first, by a linear analysis, and, second, by applying the equipartition theorem to the allowable magnetic energy for the modes at zero frequency.
