STUDY OF THE VELOCITY DISPERSION OF ACOUSTIC-WAVES IN PERIODIC STRUCTURES

摘要
The velocity dispersion of ultrasonic waves by a periodic structure is studied by investigating the propagation perpendicular to the layer of the structure, in the 0.1-2 MHz frequency range. The Wigner-Ville transform in the time-frequency analysis shows the allowed and forbidden bands of the dispersion relations. The phase velocity is measured as a function of frequency in the first allowed band. Good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained, even if the structure is made up of several layers, four in this experiment.
