摘要
Considering the general laws of magnetism and the chemical, physical and structural properties of inorganic materials, several compounds containing divalent manganese or trivalent gadolinium have been proposed as standards for magnetic measurements. The preparation of very pure materials and their characterization are described. Supposing only that the Curie-Weiss law is strictly followed with the theoretical value of the Curie constant, a method for refining the experimental data (measured force, temperature) has been proposed which allowed to determine the thermal variation of the magnetic susceptibility of the selected compounds i.e. the hydrated gadolinium sulfate, the manganese Tutton salt and the gadolinium oxide.
