Either criminal or civil courts can appoint neurologists like other physicians, as experts during litigations. The Council of Forensic Medicine is the first institution kept in mind in order to solve the medical problems technically. According to the Law of the Council of Forensic Medicine, neurologists can be appointed as experts in the 2nd, 3rd and the 4th Specialty Boards of the Council. In these Boards, reports to identify injuries, medical malpractice cases, civil and criminal responsibility, The President of Republic of Turkey's power to remit, on grounds of chronic illness, disability, or old age, all or part of the sentences imposed on certain individuals and to postpone the sentences of prisoners due to health problems are prepared. In this study, these areas that the neurologists can serve are explained as different topics.
