Transient Dynamic Response of Cantilever Magneto-Electro-Elastic Beam Using Finite Elements

摘要
In this paper transient response of multiphase magneto-electroelastic cantilever beam is presented using finite element method. Numerical studies are presented for different volume fraction of the piezoelectric phase (BaTiO3) in magneto-electro-elastic (CoFe2 O-4-BaTiO3) composite under clamped-free boundary condition. Newmark Beta method is employed to find the transient response of the beam. A comparison between the elastic, coupled, and uncoupled response of 0.6 volume fraction magneto-electro-elastic beam is also presented. Ansys 8.1 has been used to validate the displacement (u(Z)) and electric potential (phi) for (PZT)-epoxy mixed component (PECP) material with computer code.
