摘要
The surface tension and the density of the liquid earth alkaline metals Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba were determined in a region of high temperature. The method used is described in Ref. [8]. Fair discrepancies in temperature dependences or absolute values or in both with regard to existing data were found. The measurements correspond to the following formulas: Mg:σ = 721-0·149 T ρ{variant} = Ref.[5] confirmedCa:σ = 472-0·100 T ρ{variant} = 1·613-2·21 10-4 TSr:σ = 392-0·085 T ρ{variant} = 2·648-2·62 10-4 TBa:σ = 351-0·075 T ρ{variant} = 3·59-2·74 10-4T The intersection of all surface tension lines in one point near σ = 0 is interpreted as a consequence of equal surface energy per surface atom for all earth alkalines. © 1968.
