摘要：
Gender and politics have been a growing field of political science since the 1970s, and an extensive literature has developed in many areas, including comparative politics. This article reviews recent contributions to this literature, focusing on those that include case studies on France. It finds a rich collection of research which, together, makes an important contribution to comparative politics, applying and refining mainstream and feminist methods and moving towards the construction of empirically vetted theory.
