ACTIVITY OF ZINC IN MOLTEN COPPER AND COPPER-GOLD ALLOYS

摘要
The activities of Zn in molten Cu-Zn and Cu-Zn-Au alloys exhibit negative deviation from Raoult's law. Additions of a small amount of Au to Cu-Zn binary alloys decrease the activity of Zn. The alloy behaves as a subregular solution at dilute Zn concentrations. The activities of Zn in Cu-Zn-Au ternary liquid alloys are expressed by a quadratic relation. The temperature ranges between 1373 K and 1423 K.
