摘要
For the surgeon performing ankle arthroscopy, not only the knowledge of the macroscopic anatomy of the ankle is essential. He must also be proficient in arthroscopic anatomy and perform a standardized tour of the ankle with the arthroscope. The major anatomical structures in the anterior and posterior ankle joint must be inspected and examined for pathological findings. Moreover, a dynamic analysis of the ankle joint can be done with the arthroscope to determine the type and localization of the ligament injury (lateral, medial, or combined) and, if necessary, to identify additional pathologies to be treated (impingement, cartilage damage, free joint bodies, etc.). © 2015, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
