摘要
The research literature on the psychosocial sequelae of pediatric burns is reviewed. Specific emphasis is given to studies concerning the adjustment of pediatric burn victims and their families. Collectively, findings indicate that there exists little empirical data to support the contention that the majority of pediatric burn victims exhibit severe poor post-burn adjustment. Specific predictors of pediatric and family psychosocial adjustment are noted. Methodological issues in the study of post-burn psychosocial adjustment are highlighted. Future directions for research on the psychosocial prognosis of pediatric burns survivors and their families are discussed. © 1991.
