FERMI-LIQUID ANALYSIS OF THE NORMAL PHASE

We demonstrate that it is quite natural to describe the normal phase of copper-oxide superconductors as a Fermi liquid, by explaining qualitative behaviours of nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate T1(-1), electrical resistivity and Hall coefficient. On the basis of a microscopic model composed of d- and p-electrons, we derive the rigorous expressions for the specific heat, spin susceptibility, T1 and T2-term of electrical resistivity. By insisting consistency among these quantities, it is concluded that spin fluctuations localized in momentum space are essential and sufficient to explain their unusual behaviours observed in the light-doping region of holes, while spin fluctuations become extended as the doping rate increases. We also attempt to explain the temperature-dependent Hall coefficient by developing the Fermi-liquid theory of anomalous Hall effect due to skew scattering.
