摘要
Advances in understanding the patho-biology of secondary complications after posterior segment penetrating ocular injuries along with progress in instrumentation and surgical techniques have provided a powerful means to salvage certain eyes that would otherwise be lost. Further progress will probably include the use of pharmacologic agents that interfere with fibrocellular proliferation, as well as better delineation of the methods and timing of surgery. © The Ophthalmic Communications Society, Inc.
