摘要：

A modified formula is presented for rectangular pressure vessels having thin-walled reinforcing members. The formula is derived from the compatibility that relates to shear deformation of the corner. Experimental results on full-size vessels are reported. The results obtained from the authors' formula are compared with those obtained from the ASME Code and by the finite element method, which indicate that the modified formula gives better accuracy.
