摘要
Assuming that literature is a symbolic product of human origin, whose comprehension requires understanding the historical and cultural condition of its producer, a man, this study seeks to point out the close connection between literary creation and life, in order to explain that understanding the artistic doing will also depend on the consideration of the context and conditions of production of the works. Based on a diachronic approach, which aims to stage the behavior of Western literature throughout History - from the so-called Middle Ages to the present time -, it also intends to extract arguments which are capable of sustaining that the malleable character of literary variability is related to needs, or spiritual, sensitive, psychic non-conformism recorded by a man in different temporalities and spaces.
