摘要：
A simple and expedient synthesis of functionalised bicyclo[3.3.0]octanes (3-5) from a bicyclic diiodide (2) is reported; the diiodide 2 was prepared through transannular reaction of (Z,Z)-cycloocta-1,5-diene with iodine in aqueous media.
