THE WORD OF THEOLOGY IN THE WHIRLPOOL OF SCIENCE

Starting in the first chapter the author presents his theory that we live in a society that experienced an epochal historical turnabout of scientificating all culture so that "scientific mentality" is a feature of today's culture and context of theological thought (GS 5). In the second chapter the author explains why theology needs to deal with questions that shape "scientific mentality", presenting in the third chapter some elements that are significant to the relationship between theology and science in culture for such a mentality. In the fourth chapter, the author speaks about what theology should do so that it can credibly and actively speak about God within the culture of a "scientific mentality". The following, fifth chapter points out what theology as a science portrays to other sciences. In conclusion, the author discusses the real place of theology in culture imbued with "scientific mentality".
