摘要：

Adrenal insufficiency is the lack of adrenal production of glucocorticoids or mineralocorticoids, due to either the destruction or dysfunction of the adrenal cortex (primary) or deficient pituitary corticotropin secretion (secondary). The most common causes of this condition are autoimmune adrenalitis (in developed countries) and tuberculosis adrenalitis (in developing countries). This article addresses the epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, management, and prognosis of adrenal insufficiency. © 2012 Elsevier Inc.
